When life flashes .....

When I die and my life flashes before my eyes - I seriously doubt how clean and tidy I kept my house will even rate a mention! Mental note to me, worry less about keeping the house clean to impress and spend more time playing with the girls! They are I want to see when my life flashes!

  1. Hi Caz! Just found your blog and am about to become a 'follower'. What a timely reminder for me, I too tend to over indulge in house chores ahead of more one on one time with my boys.

  2. Oh so true!! (another v good excuse for me to remain seated here in my hovel whilst I do anything other than keep it spotless.......) Seriously, though, you've coined it perfectly in this post. And anyone who would get up and say during a eulogy "And she kept the most immaculate home, that's why I'll miss her" has probably got their priorities out of whack ;)

  3. Perfect! I made that decision a while back - I just try to keep the house tidy(ish) and clean enough not to cause disease! Same with ironing - never do the stuff - what's the point? Wash it, shake it, hang it out and fold it or hang it when you take it in.

  4. 'A clean house is a sign of wasted life' - I sometimes remember my mum rushing around having to do things like the dishes etc before we went out and me always thinking 'who cares they'll still be there when we get back!'

  5. I'm pretty sure my mother will make some mention of my lack of house keeping skills in my eulogy but the cleaners are back from holidays so I really don't give a toss.

  6. Oh hello, thanks for joining in my giveaway & blog. You seem so ace!! I have 3 girls (& a boy) who light up my life, especially as my husband is always away. Good on your for swapping public service for motherhood. I too waddled away from my career, 37 weeks pregnant with twins, bet i was bigger than you carrying my archive box of stolen stationery to my car!! That's when i retired from the real world, never looked back since!! Thanks for your sunshine, love Posie

  7. Very good point. What use is a clean house if you don't have happy children? I try and do the same. Just keep it habitable really.

  8. Couldn't agree more. In fact, I have just convinced A that we need a cleaner. Woo hoo! More time for blogging!

  9. Couldn't agree more Caz! Who would want to spend time cleaning and tidying when you have those 3 gorgeous pinks to spend time with.

  10. Yep - that thought has crossed my mind more than once. There are more important things.
