Begonia Festival - a girls day out.

This morning, on the spur of the moment, the pinks and I decided to take on the Begonia Festival crowds for a little 'girls day out' adventure (Daddy still being away with his Mild Hog mates!)  As always on Begonia weekend parking was difficult at Lake Wendouree - so a stroll through the Botanical Gardens was called for.

Our first stop was at the Plaster Fun House tent.   With a pony, cow and dinosaur in hand the pinks set to work.

I love the fact these activities are all free for the weekend. Nothing like fun for free! (And they even had smocks available - not that my little pinks are wearing them.)

Then it was off to the Arts and Creation Tent where the pinks got to colour pictures and make fabulous frames for them out of recycle materials.   There was a host of other  activities in the A&C tent too - but as we were operating within the 'almost three year olds' attention span that was it for us.

The Petting Zoo is always a huge hit with the pinks.  This deer was a special surprise that the girls adored.  It was quickly identified as a Reindeer and potentially even one of Santa's!  The jumping castles, giant shark slide and rainbow ice-cream topped of what was a fabulous 'girls day out' adventure.

  9. We were there too! My boys plaster stuff didn't quite look as "pretty" as your girls art...it was all about coverage lol. And they enjoyed the free tram rides the most. Did you know that little deer was actually called bambi and was 7 yrs old...it looks like a baby...we stayed in the petting zoo for ages and decided we want a farm!
